VIRTUAL: Infant Massage Series | 12-1PM
Description
This event is offered virtually only, online via video conference and by phone. Please register in advance to receive access information.
OFC is thrilled to launch our lunchtime Infant Massage series, held on Thursdays this spring. This is the first of a series of FIVE workshops for caregivers and their kiddos ages 0-12 months. If you are the caregiver of a child older than 12 months and would like to participate, send an email to shareena@ourfamily.org. Participants who attend all sessions of the series will receive a care package after the last session on April 27th, 2023.
Infant massage is a long-practiced technique that can improve sleep and self regulation, reduce stress, and relieve colic and other infant discomfort. The US Chapter of the International Association of Infant Massage (Infant Massage USA) describes infant massage as "an ancient art that connects you deeply to the person that is your baby, and helps you to understand your baby's particular nonverbal language and respond with love and respectful listening. It empowers you as a parent, for it gives you the means by which you become an expert on your own child."
This series will be facilitated by Programs Director, Shareena. Shareena has been trained by Infant Massage USA and is working towards their certification in infant massage.
