Pride March 2015

This is the day the Our Family Pride Contingent marches in the parade! Bring snacks, water, wagons, and other goodies to keep the kiddies occupied. We do not yet have our position in the parade or our line-up time but have been assured we'll be situated close to the start. Please check www.ourfamily.org for our contingent number in the week before the parade!

Family Garden

Family Garden at Larkin and Grove, San Francisco
11am-4pm
Meet up after the parade in the Family Garden at the Pride festival in Civic Center. The Bay Area Discovery Museum will be there with exciting hands-on art activities, plus we'll have face painting and all the fun you'll expect at a playground. Parents can meet each other, relax while the children play, and learn about helpful community resources at our info booth.

Frameline Family Matinee: Akeelah and the Bee

Roxie Theater, 3117 16th St., San Francisco
10:30am
Eleven-year-old Akeelah is a middle schooler in South Central LA with a talent for spelling. Against many obstacles, but with the help of a special coach, she aims for the highest goal of all: the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Recommended for kids age 8 and up, 112 minutes.

Families will enjoy a free screening, healthy snacks, and door prizes!

Frameline Films: "Coming Up Queer" and "From This Day Forward"

Roxie and Castro Theaters, respectively
1:30pm & 4pm 
"Coming Up Queer," screening at 1:30pm at the Roxie, is a series of shorts that follow the lives of young people to explore what growing up as a member of the LGBTQ community means today.

"From This Day Forward," screening at 4pm at the Castro, is a documentary in which a woman returns home to a small Midwestern town for her wedding. She explores the impact that her parent's transition had on her family.

Trans March

Dolores Park, 19th St. at Dolores St., San Francisco
Your family can be part of one of the best Pride events. Spend time and march with other trans families, including both trans parents and their families, and gender-variant kids and their families. 

Trans March's youth and elder area will have face-painting, snacks, and juice! Our Family Coalition will provide poster-making materials for the march. Family activities 4-6pm. March at 6pm.

Dyke March Playground Brunch

Dolores Park 19th St. at Dolores St., San Francisco
9:30-11:30am
Bring the whole family to enjoy the park before it's cheek-and-jowl with pre-Dyke March celebrants! We meet up for our annual potluck-style brunch at the entrance of Dolores Park's fantastic playground.

LGBTQ Family Pride Day at Habitot Children's Museum

Habitot Children's Museum, 2065 Kittredge St., Berkeley
10am-1pm
Celebrate LGBTQ families with an afternoon of fun and community building for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, and their grown ups at Habitot Children's Museum. Explore the exhibits, get messy in the art studio, splash around in the water play area, and more! RSVP Now.

Oakland Pride - Save the Date

Oakland is Pride and Pride is Oakland! Celebrate family and community at the Family Garden. Last year we had multiple giant jumpy tent/slides, a pony ride, a wee petting zoo, story time, and more - visit www.ourfamily.org in August to check out the amazing activities we'll have this year!
